It’s New Year in Bali and it’s 1934 according to Balinese calendar. Observed from 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. the next morning, Nyepi is a day reserved for self-reflection and as such, anything that might interfere with that purpose is restricted. The main restrictions are: no lighting fires (and lights must be kept low); no working; no entertainment or pleasure; no traveling; and for some, no talking or eating at all. The effect of these prohibitions is that Bali’s usually busy streets and roads are empty, there is little or no noise from TVs and radios, and few signs of activity are seen even inside homes. The only people to be seen outdoors are the Pecalang, traditional security men who patrol the streets to ensure the prohibitions are being followed. However a day before there is a big celebration and an Ogoh-ogoh parade on the streets.

I find it fascinating that most people plan their vacation with better care than they do their lives.Perhaps that is because escape is easier than change. - Jim Rohn

It’s raining again on Paradise Island and I am really happy to come back and keep on working, diving, surfing and live my life. Recently I met a number of young bright men that bought 4 hour workweek idea and now start their own businesses and live location independent lifestyle in SE Asia. During our cnversations I ask them what they want to archive. Pretty much all of them mention that they want to be millionaires, but none of them could answer why. Most of their answers were very common like “Live where I want”, “Travel whenever I want”, “Buy whatever I want”, “Eat Whatever I want”. I also asked them details about each question and they figured out that they actually do all of it already. So here is a question. Why do you need money?

Let me tell you what money is for me. We are all humans and our forefathers were hunting, fishing and harvested crops to feed themselves and their families. Each action required tools. Nets, knives, spears and more. We still hunt for food. Our tools changed. We don’t kill deer, we simply go to supermarket and wave credit card and take groceries home. We use different tools. So money is just a tool, oxygen to move forward. Money can take us closer to our dream. What I found common in those bright individuals is lack of dream. They chose entrepreneurial path to live today and be successful, however success for them is just  a society cliché. Live to die, but live well and outside of the box. However still live to die. Singapore

March 15, 2012

I am finally on my way to my dream Island of Bali and I am slowly stripping my clothes the closer I am (Singapore is my connector). Sweater, jacket and shoes moved to the plastic bag with a bottle of Chivas purchased at Duty Free shop for 30$ (Over a 100$ in Bali) and replaced by a pair of flip flops, T-shirt and shorts. Back to Basics. Back to my lifestyle, and back to work. Today I just quickly wanted to mention How I get my Videos done and where I find resources for different projects for my business.

First of all I would like you to watch Egoistic Presentation video that has been done for me:

Egoism is the very essence of a noble soul-

Quite a lot of people asked me why I named my blog Egoistic life and What’s the difference between “Egoistic” and “Egoitistic“. Well, Let me start from latter.

While similar, they have some important differences. Consider this note on usage from the Oxford Dictionaries:

The words egoism and egotism are frequently confused, as though interchangeable, but there are distinctions worth noting. Both words derive from Latin ego (‘I’), the first-person singular pronoun.Egotism, the more commonly used term , denotes an excessive sense of self-importance, too-frequent use of the word ‘I,’ and general arrogance and boastfulness. Egoism, a more subtle term , is perhaps best left to ethicists, for whom it denotes a view or theory of moral behavior in which self-interest is the root of moral conduct. An egoist, then , might devote considerable attention to introspection, but could be modest about it, whereas an egotist would have an exaggerated sense of the importance of his or her self-analysis, and would have to tell everyone
